Born at Ofen (Budapest), 1814. Pupil of Peter Teufelsdorfer. Worked for Fischer at Vienna. Set up own premises which he called “At the Golden Eagle”, 1840. Received an appointment to the Imperial Court. Died 1892. Won medals at Munich (1854) and London (1862). Instruments finely patterned on the models of Stradivarius, Guarnerius and Maggini.
