RAULIN, Rene(b.1964) Born in Stuttgart, Germany and immigrated to Australia when he was eleven. Trained for 3 years with Warren Nolan-Fordham at Montsalvat (1990-1993) and later with Oscar Kappelmeyer in Passau, Germany. Now makes and restores string instruments with a particular interest in Baroque violins. Has done extensive research on Australian timbers and prefers to work with these woods where possible.
