Born in Guangzhou in 1984， he is son and pupil of Haide Lin. Started pliying the piano at age 5 and played the violin at age 7. Awarded 1st place in San Francisco BayArea Young Violinist Competition in 1998. He began learning violin making from the father at age 15. Now studying in the University of California， Berkeley， he works part time at Ifshin Violins.
