Ms. Mai was a student of Maestro Linag Guo-Hui and Bi Zhuang. She is a native of Guangzhou (b. 1954). She began violin making in 1972 and was the top prize winner at the 1982 Guangzhou Competition for Young Makers. Her instruments have precise workmanship and possess sweet， rounded tone. Her instruments are handcrafted according to the precepts of classicalItalian masters. She is a talented violin maker.She is a co-founder， with Tan lian-Hua， of Wa-Me Violin worksop.The workshop is small-scale， but it has built up a satisfied， faithful client base. Member， China Violin Makers' Association. Member， Universal Strings Society of America.
