Mr. Guang (b. 1954) was a student of Chen Yi in violin making， having enrolled in the GIF violin division in 1972. He studied violin making in the US， and at the 1990 Canadian Violin Making Competition he distinguished himself by taking both gold and silver medals in bow making. He was silver medal winner at the 10th VSA for viola tone (no gold medal awarded). His Cremona Instruments Company， based in Guangzhou， is one of the largest such enterprises in the world. A violoncello made by its staff members took the silver medal in cello tone at the 1998 VSA competition， the first such award for a Chinese-made cello. Member， China Violin Makers' Association. Member， Universal Strings Socie of America.
