Detail Introduction

Michele Angelo Bergonzi(1721-1758) Eldest son and immedate successor of his father Carlo Bergonzi, who had worked in Antonio Stradivari's workshop. From middle 1740s, Michele Angelo became productive, because of unstable economy circumstance, he was not so famous. After his father's death in 1747, he chose to stay and work in Stradivari's shop until his death. When Stradivari and Guarneri family disappeared gradually, Michele Angelo became the only hope to continue the traditional Cremonese violin making.
