born 20 July 1954 in Zakopane. He attended the Technical School of Stringed Instrument Making in Nowy Targ, which he finished in 1976. For the next four years he expanded his knowledge of the luthier's art in the workshop of Franciszk Mardula in Zakopane and in the Santman workshop in The Netherlands.
