He was born in Bogotà (Colombia). He has worked in an instruments and pianos restoration workshop, under his brother Miguel Roberto’s guidance, where he has learnt for the first time how to make stringed instruments.He moved to Cremona, where he got his degree in 1990 at the International Violinmaking School, under the guidance of Masters E. Scarpini and Stefano Conia, teacher of varnishing and restoring.Immediately after the school, he opens his own violinmaking workshop in via Pallavicino nr. 11 in Cremona, where he usually makes violins, violas and cellos, and also restores antique and modern instruments.He also takes part to different exhibitions, such as the Triennale of Cremona and the Modern Violinmaking Season in Bagnacavallo.
