Peter Gallinotti (1885-1979) was born at Solero, a small village 5 km from Alessandria. Won medals at Geneva, Rome 1931, and Bologna 1936. Stradivari and Guarneri (1743 ‘Cannone’ pattern) models; very precise work. After 1950 concentrated on making guitars. Branded internally: ‘P. Gallinotti‘. Manuscript label on upper block. Printed label: Pietro Gallinotti / Liutaio / Solero, Alessandria 1940 / Italia
