Born in Verona, Italy, in 1918, he was son of Luigi Bertelli, who was also a Luthier, and moved to Brazil during the post-war, he established in Sao Paulo. He won two silver medals from the Academy of Santa Cecilia (Italy) due to his violins. Bertelli belongs to the Classic School of Cremona. His instruments have an oil varnish either in ambar or gold tone - is an excellent lutheria work worldwide known. He is one of the best luthiers ever worked in Brazil, Bertelli never made doublebasses, only violins, violas, cellos and some bowes.
