Born in Lowell, MA. Studied under Charles Gage and under his father Charles. Worked also as a repairman in Boston for Elias Howe and later for Oliver Ditson. He entered into a partnership with his uncle Edmund and later established own shop. His trademark was \'Cremona Art\'. Itruments made by his workers included \'under the direction of O.H. Bryant\'.
A German-born maker whose father made orga and violi. Started violin making in 1908. Moved to the USA and established a shop in St. Paul in 1922. His last itrument is dated 1956. Made about 75 itruments but also several bows, which are stamped \'CHAS. E. HERBRIG.\'
Born in Barre, Maachusetts, he studied violin making under his father, John White. Worked for Henry Prenti. Formed a partnership in Boston with his brother Ira White. Calvin Baker and Orrin Weeman both worked for him.
