Frank Ravatin 出生于1962年法国里昂。 1981-1985年在Cremona国际制琴学校跟随Maestro Giorgio Scolari学习制琴。后来在巴黎Jacques Camurat的工作室工作了6年，从事修缮工作直到1991年有了自己的工作室。

他所制作的大提琴在1994年和1996年的Strad competition in Manchester (U.K)比赛中分获银奖和金奖。

作品在Violin Society of America's international competition比赛中多次获奖，其中包括1994年的小提琴和大提琴金奖，1996年的多次金银奖，1998年多次金银奖。

Frank Ravatin还在许多的国际大赛中担任评委。
