1776年生于Innsbrück, Tyrol，在巴黎师从叔叔 Francois Fent ，1798年到伦敦，与Thomas Dodd一起工作了11年，1800年，为John Betts 工作过。

尽管作品大都采用Strad 模板，但是都有自己的特性，所有作品都很优雅，每个细节完成得都很完美。

Bernhard 的大儿子，1800年生于伦敦，随父亲在Bett的工作室工作到1823年，在Lombard Street和Farn 合伙做生意。1832年和George Purdy合伙在Finch Street成立了名为Purdy and Fendt的工作室，并于1843年在Haymarket 开了分店，后来在74 Dean Street, Soho也开了分店。

1852年逝世于Smith Street, Brompton，一生制作了数百把Guarnerius 和Strad 提琴。
